Macrocalamus vogeli David & Pauwels, 2004
As the other members of this genus this is a small secretive terrestrial species.
Until now, only one specimen is known, a male with a length of 19,2 cm.
It was found on Gunong Tahan,Pahang, West-Malaysia at a height between 1650 and 1750m.
This species was called Macrocalamus cf. lateralis
by Vogel & David in the last review of this genus (1999).
This species will hardly be kept in captivity due to its
secretive life, its inconspicuous colours and its rarity. Nothing is known about the biology.
